The International Digital Economy College (IDEC) is a Sino-foreign joint education institution without legal person status founded by Minjiang University and European University Cyprus, approved by the Ministry of Education of China. (Chinese-Foreign Cooperative Education License No. MOE35CYA02DNR20212180N). It currently offers four undergraduate programs: Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Marketing and Digital Communications and Graphic Design.

The International Digital Economy College of Minjiang University has some distinctive features. Under the special concern of the heads of the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Cyprus, it has received tremendous support from the educational and diplomatic departments of the two countries and obtained the qualifications of dual enrollment and the award of dual degrees. IDEC offers “4+0” study model courses and recruits undergraduate students through unified entrance system. Students enroll at European University Cyprus and Minjiang University at the same time, and have access to the excellent teaching resources from the two universities. Also, students who have successfully completed the program and have met the requirements from both universities will be granted two degrees from Minjiang University and European University Cyprus in addition to a graduation certificate from Minjiang University. This allows students to 'learn abroad' without actually leaving the country.

The academic staff of IDEC is highly qualified, and the teaching quality is unwaveringly guaranteed. The academic faculty members are provided by both European University Cyprus and Minjiang University. More than 80% of the academic staff from European University Cyprus are PhD graduates of US and UK universities, including some of the best universities in the world, such as California Institute of Technology (ranked fourth in the world), Imperial College London (ranked eighth in the world), University College London (ranked tenth in the world), Columbia University (ranked nineteenth in the world), and the University of Edinburgh (ranked 19th in the world, etc. They are engaged in various industries and different professions, keep up with current trends, and are brimming with enthusiasm and inventiveness. The Minjiang University academic faculty is made up of highly qualified individuals with strong teaching abilities and experience studying or working abroad. The teaching quality evaluation of the programs at IDEC is reviewed by the teaching quality monitoring systems of Minjiang College and the European University of Cyprus, and is strictly accredited by the two countries' educational authorities.

IDEC introduces international curriculum, and innovates and develops its teaching approaches. It collaborates with European University Cyprus on course design, integrating core courses from local programs with courses scientifically introduced from European University Cyprus, resulting in the combination of internationalization and localization. By utilizing cutting-edge educational technology, IDEC ensures that students fully benefit from the excellent educational resources provided by the two universities. It concentrates on the demands of the students and completely takes into account their dual needs for career development as well as further studies abroad. The courses are taught in English or in a bilingual format, with interactive and heuristic teaching methods, and they are furnished with cutting-edge teaching materials that are either used or suggested by European University Cyprus. During the teaching process, teachers adopt teaching approaches that combines individual work with teamwork, and theoretical learning with research analysis. Examinations, quizzes, papers and other diversified, formative assessment methods are utilized to improve the students' professional knowledge level, independent learning ability, and team cooperation ability.

The college actively engages in international exchanges, and the competitiveness of students has been rising over time. European University Cyprus has joined the European Erasmus+ program and has signed cooperation agreements with more than 300 universities in 30 different countries. Through summer courses programs, exchange programs, and joint degree programs, Minjiang University students have the chance to expand their international vision and visit renowned universities in Europe, including the Queen's University Belfast, the University of Hull, the National University of Athens, the Munich University of Applied Science and Technology, the Roland University, the University of Paris, the Madrid European University, the University of Valencia, and Turin University. European University Cyprus is also a full member of the Utrecht Network and has established cooperative relationships with more than 30 prestigious universities in 26 countries in the Network. After graduation, students will obtain a bachelor's degree from European University Cyprus, which gives them a better chance to enroll in world-famous universities that are members of the Utrecht Network such as the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands, the University of Bologna in Italy, the University of Budapest in Hungary, the University of Leipzig in Germany, and the University of Helsinki in Finland to further their education and improve their core competitiveness.

The International Digital Economy College of Minjiang University，insisting on the educational philosophy of “quality and adaptability over size and dimension”, and the principles of “building a locally-based and market-oriented institution with a focus on quality and practicability of education”, aims to cultivate the internationalized digital application engineers, digital creative designers, digital businesses operators and digital economy entrepreneurs with both ICT professional literacy and cross-border integration ability and to build a digital economy college with special features and noteworthy aspects. Computer Engineering and Electronic Engineering are the two primary academic fields for studying Intelligent Information and Big Data. Additionally, Marketing and Digital Communications is the core major for the discipline group of Economics, Management, and Law, whereas Graphic Design is the core major for the discipline group of Humanities, Arts, and Communications.
